Punjab News: Inderpreet Singh, known as Parry, stepped out of his home around 6:30 pm to drive to the gym. As his car entered Sector-26’s Timber Market stretch, a trailing Creta overtook him and forced him to stop. Before he understood the situation, shooters inside the vehicle opened continuous fire, aiming directly at the driver’s seat. The attack was swift and precise, indicating careful planning. Parry slumped in his seat as bullets tore through the glass. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before chaos unfolded on the street.

How Did The Gunmen Escape Within Seconds?

The area’s shopkeepers rushed out after hearing the gunshots, but the attackers acted fast. Realizing a crowd was gathering, they turned the Creta sharply and sped away through the inner lanes. Locals spotted Parry lying inside the vehicle covered in blood and immediately called the police. He was rushed to PGI Hospital, where doctors battled to save him, but the extensive firearm injuries proved fatal. The news of his death spread quickly, heightening fears of a larger gang conflict.

Why Did Police Seal All Entry Points Immediately?

As soon as police teams arrived, forensics officers began collecting bullet shells, blood samples and vehicle details. Senior officials declared a citywide alert, ordering checkpoints across all exit and entry points. Barricades were set up on highways and internal roads to intercept suspicious vehicles. CCTV footage from nearby shops, markets and roads was collected for technical analysis. Investigators believe the attackers used a rehearsed escape route, suggesting involvement of a professional criminal module.

Who Was Parry And Why Was He A Target?

Parry had a long criminal history with twelve registered cases in various police stations. Recently released on bail, he remained under surveillance due to his gang associations. His family has a policing background—his father is a retired inspector and his brother serves in Punjab Police. Despite this, Parry maintained links with major gangsters including Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Sampat Nehra. These ties placed him at the center of multiple underworld rivalries.

Is This Another Chapter In The Bambiha–Lawrence Rivalry?

Police sources suggest the murder fits the pattern of long-running hostility between the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate and the Bambiha group. Both organisations have previously targeted each other’s associates. The precision of the attack, coupled with Parry’s criminal network, points to a revenge-driven gang hit. Investigators are reviewing old disputes and previous FIRs to identify possible motives behind the killing. Officers say the nature of the attack reflects clear intent to eliminate, not intimidate.

How Close Are Investigators To Identifying The Killers?

The crime branch has launched an intensive manhunt using CCTV tracking, mobile dumps, and automated number-plate recognition tools. Teams have been deployed toward Punjab and Haryana borders to follow potential escape trails. Eyewitness statements are being recorded to refine suspect descriptions. Police officials claim they are piecing together the movements of the Creta before and after the attack. They believe breakthroughs will come from digital surveillance and vehicle forensics.

Will This Murder Trigger A Larger Security Crackdown?

Chandigarh Police expect heightened tensions in the coming days as rival gangs react. Additional patrols have been deployed in sensitive pockets. Authorities fear retaliatory violence if the masterminds remain at large. The administration plans to intensify monitoring of gang associates, parolees and recent offenders. Officials say the case is being treated as a top-priority investigation due to its potential to escalate into a broader gangwar. A major crackdown is likely once identities of the shooters are confirmed.
